Transform your Org with Salesforce Translation Workbench

In an increasingly interconnected world, businesses are no longer confined by geographical borders. Multinational companies like Salesforce must cater to clients and users from every corner of the globe. With this vast reach comes the challenge of language diversity. Enter Salesforce Translation Workbench – a powerful tool designed to tackle this issue with a practical, effective solution.

A Unified Database for All Languages

It’s common to have a multilingual workforce; most businesses employ staff from across the globe. If staff work out of the same production environment, failing to ensure it’s equally accessible to all can lead to productivity issues and avoidable mistakes. To address this, Salesforce introduced the Translation Workbench, enabling users to translate most components of Salesforce.

Salesforce offers three tiers of language support on the platform:

  • Fully supported languages. Users can change the language for all features, including Help
  • End-user languages. Salesforce provides translated labels for standard objects and pages. Does not support admin pages, Setup, and Help
  • Platform-only languages. No default translations are provided.

By leveraging the power of Salesforce’s unified language database, businesses don’t need to maintain separate systems for different regions, streamlining operations and ensuring consistency.

Take for example, an organsiation headquartered in the United States while managing sales operations in Europe, Asia, and South America. Traditionally, this might require separate databases and systems tailored to each region’s language needs, leading to complexity and inefficiency.

However, with Salesforce’s Translation Workbench, all data is stored in a single, unified system, with translations applied as needed. This approach not only reduces administrative overhead but also ensures that all users, regardless of their language preference, have access to the same accurate and up-to-date information.

Streamlining Translation Management

The Translation Workbench simplifies the translation process, making it easy for administrators to manage and update translations

Initially, custom labels are created in English. These labels can then be translated into multiple languages using the Workbench.

This translation can be done one field at a time through the front-end UI tool, or at scale by using translation imports. This flexibility allows for both granular control and efficient bulk processing.

Bridging Language Barriers in Technology

Imagine a young entrepreneur in Asia, full of great ideas but unable to adequately communicate these ideas because of the complex jargon that often accompanies advanced technology.

With Salesforce’s Translation Workbench, this hurdle dissolves. Entrepreneurs can now navigate the CRM platform in their native language, leveraging powerful tools to grow their business and connect with global markets.

This story repeats itself across developing non-English-speaking regions, where individuals can now access and benefit from sophisticated technologies that were previously out of reach.

Technological advances should not be limited to the English-speaking world. By providing localised interfaces, Salesforce not only makes these tools accessible but also transforms opportunities and drives economic growth.

In conclusion, Salesforce Translation Workbench is more than just a translation tool; it’s a strategic asset for any global business. It provides a scalable solution to the linguistic challenges faced by multinational companies, ensuring that language is no longer a barrier to efficiency and productivity.

By adopting this tool, businesses can truly operate on a global scale, speaking the language of every user, everywhere. Additionally, it is equally beneficial for small companies, allowing them use of the same technologies as large international corporations, leveling the playing field and fostering growth and innovation across businesses of all sizes.
